Ugh, I just saw a facebook group called "I Use my Cell Phone to See in the Dark". Like...fucking obviously, everyone does. There are so many groups that are just entitled after things that everyone does that's like common sense, but not always brought up. I hate comedians who do this too, like...UGH! "I lift the toilet seat up before I go to the washroom!" Fuck me, I could start a facebook group and have a million people join thinking I was the first genius to vocalize the thing that they along with millions of others do. And then they think they're special because not many people join the group, thinking the exact same way I am right now. "I slide on hardwood floors when I'm wearing socks!" "I put on a hat when it's cold outside!"

Fuck off!

Hokay, here we go, my montreal post:

I'll toss in some commentary, but for the sake of documentation, I'm gonna focus on mostly listing what I actually did over the 3-4 days I was gone.

So after work on saturday, I caught the 8:00 bus to the good ol' MTL. I basically just informed Cody that I would be staying with him over the next few days. So I met up with him, and then we headed to Graham's big party. In the metro, a very sketch man sat next to Cody and I and asked what we were up to. Cody played along with the man, assuming he'd subside I guess, but the man wouldn't let up. He kept asking us to go back to his house, and put his hand on Cody's inner thigh, and Cody didn't even flinch! He just kept saying that we had made a promise to go to this party, and he was a man of his word. I ended up standing up 'cause I thought the metro was coming, so Cody just stood up and apologised, and we went to the other side to wait for the metro that wasn't actually coming for another 5 minutes. Cody was pretty freaked out, and I wouldn't have just stood up if I'd known it was another metro coming! Anyway, we headed to the party. It was...odd. I hadn't been to a party in a while. Like 30+ people all stuffed into a small appartment, a couple good friends, a handful of old acquaintances and familiar faces, and the majority, people I've never seen before. So Cody and I strolled around, trying to look cool, but there were no hipster chicks, so we didn't look cool, though one creepy kid told me he really liked my "look". He was foreign and kept sitting next to me and putting his arm around me. I got the feeling that nobody wanted him there for some reason. Anyway, we ended up talking to Ericbent and he let us have a couple of his beers, and by the bottom of two bottles, cody and I had a good buzz going 'cause we're lightweights. We had to pee really bad, and there were people throwing up in the bathroom (along with the kitchen sink and Graham's room), so Cody, Joel Villeneuve and I all peed off of Graham's balcony. After walking around, talking to people a bit more, we decided to bail, so we stole someone's beer and Joel's vodka (which we found out later was just full of water), and we left. Navigating the city drunk was fun, and we eventually made it back to Cody's dorm, where we jammed for a while downstairs with Cody's guitar and a cheap drumset with a busted open snare. It was quite fun. Then we were told we had to be quiet because there were some noise complaints (I was unaware people could hear us from the basement, Cody was surprised we were even allowed to play that long). So we headed back upstairs where the retarded roommates of cody were watching Entourage, which I was then forced to also watch. I really don't like that show. It's so boring and unfunny! Then we slept, ringing on a new day!

Cody's plan from day one was to paint shirts. He had shirts, and he had fabric paint, so that was gonna be our plan for the day. We also wanted to jam, so we went downstairs, but when we got their, we heard strange noises coming from the room. There was another band jamming, and all we heard was terrible screaming, and awful synth feedback, with disconnected drumhits. Pretty amusing, but it sucked that we couldn't jam. So we went into town, to a music store where Cody tried out a couple of amps, and the employees actually had to tell us to turn it down. The music store was pretty cool and big. Then we went to an art store and got one more colour of paint, and we also ate at St. Huberts because it was a sunday and I really wanted it, and we were both super hungry 'cause we hadn't eaten in a while. At some point during the day, Cody ran into a classmate who told him that they had an assignment due on the monday, so our day was cut short. I got a hold of Rhonda and Phil and Laura, so I met up with them at the Visual Arts building and let Cody work on his homework. I checked out Phil's sweet painting that he had been working on for a while, then we went back to Phil and LAura's. It was the most stereotypical boy/girl setup ever! Laura and Rhonda were sitting on the couch, both with laptops, both browsing facebook, while Phil and I sat in chairs, drinking a beer, and playing shooter videogames. Oh, btw, the game "skate" was the sweetest demo I've ever played, Stranglehold was intense and so fun, The Club was a fun 3rd person shooter, and Burnout Paradise was as sick as I'd imagined. So I thanked them for having me, and departed, not knowing that I would in fact be at that apartment two more times before leaving for Ottawa. Went back to Cody's, went to bed (I think. I don't think we did anything that night 'cause it was already a bit too late). Oh, I did go on the laptop for a while before going to sleep.

Next day, Cody woke me up after coming back from his class at 12:30, where he and his dumb roommate made fun of me for sleeping in that late (little do they know...). So I got up, and we went downstairs again to jam, which was fun, again. After that, Cody pitched the idea of Value Village, which is never as rewarding as I hope it will be. Went to the Namur station (which had the craziest light setup ever, I got a picture of it, I'll post all these on my facebook...though I only took like five pictures during the whole trip...whoops...) And we hiked to Value Village. found some 4 dollar converse for Cindy, and some cheap ass couches and desks and stuff which is good to know for when we move out, and Cody found some awful McGill Engineering Faculty shirt. Then we walked to Walmart to buy some bulk candy (Cody's idea) and we ate at a McDonalds IN the Walmart, which, in my opinion, is the most evil merger ever. Cody wanted to get to the Winners, but it was across some bridge and just way further away then it looked, so I convinced him to give up and we went back with our spoils. I had gotten a hold of Phil earlier (or he had gotten a hold on me) and we had setup playing video games again. I convinced Cody to come along. Rhonda wasn't there and Laura came later. Sadly I didn't see Rhonda again before I left :(. Phil apparently enjoyed the Burnout Paradise demo so much that he had gone out and bought the game that day, so we played that, mostly online, for about 3 hours, which was super fun. We turned the mic on and took turns speaking, and we got their voices to play out of the TV speakers for all of us to hear. We made fun of kids and old people, and it was great. then we showed Cody some of the demos, which I'm now recalling is the time I first tried the Skate demo and was blown away. Then we went home and slept, again I went on the computer for a bit first.

TUESDAY. Woke up at 11, Cody's break between classes. Today was the day, we decided, that we were finally going to get those shirts painted! I had already picked out a design in my head, and it turned out super well! I'll post pictures of our shirts on facebook. And I'll wear my shirt tomorrow for anyone who'll see me then. After we were done (or semi-done for Cody, I guess, he'll finish it later he says), Cody had to go back to class, and I had a date with Phil and Laura's apartment! The prior night, I was talking about how I had to find something to do while Cody was gonna be in class, and they told me to stay in their apartment, even though they weren't gonna be there! Now THAT is hospitality! I felt so weird about it, but eventually accepted the offer and thanked them, and the plan was to meet up with them in town, get keys from them, then meet up again to give them back, or wait for them to get home. But I called, and they ended up both being at home! So I went over, and Phil and I played more Burnout, and they fed me some crazy delicious stirfry, and a quantity I didn't even know could exist on a single plate. Didn't finish, Phil did. Quite quickly too! Then they had to go, and I was gonna meet up with Cody, so we parted ways for a final time, and I was back at SOLIN (Cody's dumb dorm name.) I was kinda worried that I'd have to sleep another night on that terrible futon in the middle of the living room, in everybody's way another night, and I was quite ready to head home, but luckily, the paint dried almost instantly, so I managed to shove it in my bag without worry. I left when the dumb roommates were watching shitty quality, out of sync episodes of family guy on the projector. Don't get me wrong, there were a couple cool people around the dorm, but Cody's roommates and their friends were all pretty dumb. Anyway, I caught the metro to the bus station.

The bus ride home was ridiculous, we didn't leave montreal and the surrounding 'burbs for a full hour, going to the airport to pick up more people, then honestly looping around residential streets, industrial roads, and off-ramps for like 30 minutes, then going BACK to the airport for like one extra lady who I guess missed the bus. THEN we stopped at dep for another ten minutes because I guess the driver was thirsty or something...there's a dep at the fucking bus station, guy! And it was at this point that he decided to collect our bus tickets, which he didn't do at the beginning of the trip...o_O? Then, I happen to wake up from my daze/doze and spot a little offramp development/suburban area and I see that there is a huge McDonalds in this mini town, but far away from the McDonalds, in the middle of this area, was a loooong pole, with a McDonalds logo at the top of it, to advertise to highway drivers. But it was seriously super creepy, like they owned this township you know? Freaked me out, and reminded me of the thought of a Walmart/McDonals merger. Anyway, get back to Ottawa, waiting for my bus, and some kid starts talking to me about how he's late for cadets, and how one time he accidentally shot an officer with a .22, then the guy ran after him, shooting him, so he had to run home. Also, the bullet ricocheted off his leg and into the pepsi machine the officer was at, so after it hit, two cans of pop shot out and hit him in the nuts. Oh and he wants to join the army to kill...some racial slur I didn't really catch, because they "blew up" his uncle with a landmine. Ugh, I didn't miss Ottawa. I missed my house, my family, and my friends. So if we moved at least two of those into a better city, I would be quite pleased ^_^

Ironically enough, the South Park episode that came on RIGHT when I got home tonight was the evil Walmart one!

So that's about it! Check out my facebook pictures sooner or later, I'm too effing tired to do it now. Now, I must sleep. Thanks for listening to me ramble! And thank you so much to Cody (who doesn't read this) and Laura (who does read this...probably) and Phil for putting me up for those days, really appreciate it. And thanks to you too Rhonda for at least hanging out with me for one day! Night all!

Lost In The Pacific [Feb. 1st, 2008|01:27 am]
[Current Mood | predatory]
[Current Music |TOKYO POLIC CLUB!]

I got the Sunday off, so it looks like I'm heading down to Montreal for the most random trip of my life! Super disorganized, I have nobody's number or anything, Graham's having a party which I'll go to and maybe sleep there, and Cody is aware that I'm coming and probably staying with him a night, but he hasn't responded to my emails 'cause he's a flighty lazy asshole, but you know, WHATEVER. The Party should be quite funny 'cause Warwick's supposedly showing up lol, anxious to see how that plays out! Oh yeah, Rhonda, and Laura if you read this, or just one of you, give me your number and like time that you'll be available to hang out with me, because I might be there as long as I can get somewhere to sleep 'cause I don't work again 'til next friday. This is going to be one random, possibly boring, possibly exciting trip! I'll be sure to get fresh batteries for my camera.

Oh yeah, the show was good, but Born Ruffians van busted so they didn't make it out, and some local band opened instead. Oh well, both Ruffians and TPC will be back in april, so we'll see them then. And I got a sweet ass TPC zip-up hoodie which everyone in mtl will see, 'cause I'll undoubtedly be wearing it a lot. SWEET. Night.

Just As You Dance Dance Dance... [Jan. 30th, 2008|01:17 am]
[Current Mood | anxious]
[Current Music |Radiohead - Jigsaw Falling Into Place (Helmet-Cam Video!)]

So I got my thursday shift covered! For those who don't know, Tokyo Police CLub and Born Ruffians were supposed to be playing at Algonquin last tuesday, but when Jeff, Cindy, and I showed up, there was a little post-it on the band poster saying it was postponed to this thursday due to weather, which was obviously a big piss off, but whatever. Thursday is the one shift that I've been getting consistently week after week, and sure enough, I got it this week too. I talked to everyone I could, and when no one was able to cover my shift, I looked at the schedule to find everyone who wasn't working on thursday and got their numbers down. I called everyone and the last person I tried was Sarah who is one of my favourite coworkers, but who I haven't seen in forever because we've all gotten cut back hours. So I called her and we actually talked for a while, and she agreed to take my shift, and I'm so grateful of that! So yeah, I'll get to see this show! They better not fucking postpone it again!

If I'm not working on sunday (which I think I've only worked once before), then I'll probably be heading down to mtl. I haven't really ever gone randomly, and I'd like to see everybody again, and graham's party should be good for that. Haven't been to a random party in a while either, so that should be fun. Nothing really exciting to report, I just don't like waiting so long to post. So there's you go's!

Montreal, t'es tellement froid [Jan. 27th, 2008|12:22 am]
[Current Music |Malajube, Radioohead - Reckoner]

I wish I knew that he read this, because I would like him to read this first hand, or not at all, or...I don't really care really, I just want to state, on the record:

Warwick is being such a little asshole.

I want to state also that he really is drawing no emotion from me, like I'm not upset or even phased at all by his actions, I'm actually really glad this is how it went down because he's not in the band anymore and we didn't even have to lift a finger! But holy shit, it just amazes me that someone can be so snotty and petty. And type shit about his friends and try masking it by leaving names out...holy shit man! I hope you read this and find out what a little pussy I think you are! I also want you to know that I could care less what you think of me, and I kinda hope I see you at Graham's party thing just so I can be so cool and unphased and nonchalant with you, and know that inside you're just so pissed off and knowing that I could care less just pisses you off more.

Anyway, just wanted to state that for the record, that I can't belive this guy could be so lame. Onto much better things:

a) I had no socks for so long, but mum finally laid a whole pile of them with the rest of my laundry, so I get to have clean feet every day which makes me very happy!

b) I've stopped receiving my Word of the Day and On This Day emails. It's been about a week now. I ended them basically because I was only getting repeats and poorly written facts or poorly chosen words. It's actually really nice being able to skip checking my email for a few days and not having a backlog of shit I don't care about and just skim through. They were quite useful, but about 6 months ago, they changed format, and I guess the writers of them changed or got lazy or something, because they go pretty weak. Would've recommended them back in the day, not anymore. But there's probably some better sites for that kind of thing out there, so go look if you feel compelled to do so.

And thus begins another gap of not working. Still waiting for a phone call from Westin for a job as a valet. They were supposed to call a while ago. And this isn't just what they told me, they are actually a friend of a coworker of my mother, who says they were supposed to call this week at some point. Ugh. But whatever, I'm thinking about going up to Montreal this coming weekend. Or I was thinking about it until I found out about Graham's party, so now I'm quite sure I'll be heading up, so that should be fun. Cindy's coming too supposedly, and Jeff, I'm assuming you'll come with us ?_?

Tonight we were supposed to go to Live Lounge, but Cindy forgot her ID, lol what a blonde, so instead we had an adventure. The adventure was cabbing back to Aylmer, trying to get into Terminus, and then cabbing home. Quite fun, considering.

Alright, night y'allzzz!

Hi e'erybody!

Lately, like nobody goes, but today there were quite a lot of people, and I met some cool people from Sparks, so that was cool! There's a hot, crazy asian girl who has piqued my interest, so I shall keep you updated on that! I have added her to facebook, so we'll see if she adds me lol. Anyway, I'm hungry! NIGHTZ!

Cindy's dumb show list thing (in chronological order...I think) [Jan. 21st, 2008|04:29 pm]
Snowjam (two years in a row) - Back in the day - Bands playing all day, the ones I cared about and actually watched were...alright, here we go: Goldfinger, Treble Charger, Gob, Lagwagon, Planet Smashers...I think that's about it.

Jesse James, Flashlight Brown, Planet Smashers - New Capital Music Hall, one of the first shows after it reopened

Holy Fuck, Islands, Metric - New Capital Music Hall

Cribs, Death Cab For Cutie (bleh), Franz Ferdinand - A Montreal University auditorium that I can't remember the name of...kind of like and acronym that starts with an "S" I think.

This is where my chronological order might get screwed up and I'll probably forget some shows, so eff the order.

Most Serene Republic, Strokes - Civic Centre (under Landsdowne Park)

Sebastien Grainger - Maverick's

Sebastien Grainger, Tokyo Police Club, Metric - Bluesfest '07

Born Ruffians - Babylon

San Serac, Shout Out Out Out Out - Zaphods

You Say Party, We Say Die!, some dick-rock (coined by Jeff) assholes, Malajube - Metropolis

Some friend's bands and shit, most of which not worth mentioning.

I dunno, anything else guys?

HMV is giving no hours, thus, I need a second job [Jan. 18th, 2008|12:49 am]
[Current Music |Malajube - Casse-Cou]

I'm in a weird mood. A very good one though. Working 'til 11:30 is such an odd thing. Especially when it's just me and Dave working. (Read last entry if you don't know who Dave is). My Shout Out Out Out Out cd came in today, so now I have one of my own. So I listened to that and Strokes - Room On Fire. And I also chose Malajube. Bit of a gamble, but it paid off, because it's definitely what put me in this mood. I really like when I'm able to recognize more songs than I think I'm going to, especially when I'm only recognizing them from the live show we saw of them. Anyway, Malajube gets me thinking about Montreal. So on the bus, I was listening to music (mostly In Rainbows) and just thinking about the french language, and how exciting it is to still be learning another language and another culture.

I've been reading my old Dragon Ball books which are all in french. It's amazing, I remember the action panels, like the images themselves I can remember so clearly, but the story just made no sense to me. and I'm reading them now, and like...I get it! Not just the story, but I can mostly understand every paragraph word for word, which really excites me! As the exclamation marks indicate! I don't know if we'll make it to Montreal. I assume we will some day, but right now, it rides on so much. We all have things that are holding us back. For the other two, it rides entirely on whether or not they get into Dawson, and for me...well let's just say the Night Hawk debt is creeping back up on me...more like pouncing on me. (The MEQ has sent a letter saying I have until tomorrow to send in more documents, which I don't have, or there's gonna be some kinda huge debt hanging over my head).

At this point, Montreal is still this far off magical land where nobody grows up, there is no work, and everyone sees shows. Montreal is essentially an indie Neverland. Of course, it wouldn't be if we lived there, but I think some of the magic would still be there. This lost culture of English and French living in...semi-harmony, old buildings, old apartments, super cool venues and bands to play in them, and tons of people your own age, in your own style, which is so foreign to me.

So I'm sitting on the bus and I'm wearing my new hoodie. It's a very drab grey/blue zip-up sweater that's too tight in some places, and too baggy in others. And I love it! It's exactly what I was looking for. It's kind of grunge but not over-the-top filthy and full of holes or something, and it just reminds me of Montreal! I had my hood on listening to music, picturing the lead singer of Malajube at their show. He had the most awesome hoodie. Super thin material, and the hood hugged his face and came all the way over his bangs. Very cool. And it may have been a T-shirt as well...Jeff? I've also come to love my new haircut. Mum cut my hair, and I hated it at first, it's not what I wanted. I just wanted a trim everywhere and for it to look the same, but she cut my bangs pretty short, and with like a big curve. and they're heavier on the right...or left. But I really like them now. Somehow, they make my big nose look cool. Bangs seem to do that, because the Malajube guy had the same kind of thing. Anyway, so I was feeling good, looking good, and listening to good music. I had my feet up, sitting in the back, and drumming away and singing and emoting in my facial expressions. An old man was sitting across from me, didn't seem to pay any attention to me, which I didn't mind either way.

I was feeling cool, and I got off the bus, and it was beautiful. It was cold, and it was windy, and it was lightly snowing, but the wind made it much more harsh. So I was walking and my hood blew off, and the wind and snow was hitting my face, and it went numb after a bit. And I started walking with my eyes closed, which I can't usually let myself do, but I managed to do it this time. It was fun and liberating, and I ended up walking pretty deep into a big snow bank.

Bit of a tangential way of telling you about my night, but I kind of like it. I think I managed to tie everything together and complete most side-plots, if you will.

I DID IT!!! [Jan. 4th, 2008|02:28 am]
I got the job! I've been hired on as a bonafied employee! Now I can get cheaper shit! Yay! The pressure to do well is on even more now, because they've made their decision so I'd better not let them down, you know. I kinda realized today that Lesley is just crazy a lot of the time, so I'm just not gonna let her bother me as much. And Jon is pretty easy to talk to, so I'm not afraid of him as much anymore. I just came home from The Brig with Robyn, Jessie, and Dave, a formidable mash up. I drank quite a lot but I'm not feeling it at all which is pretty good. Though I would like to feel a bit sillier, especially with those guys. I've been meaning to do this for a while now, and now that I'm an actual employee, I think it's time. I'm gonna give a brief breakdown of all my coworkers so you know who I'm talking about when I mention them. A reference guide for y'allz:

Lesley: My manager, crazy lady haristyle, completely impossible to predict her mood, or even how she'll react to things when you think she's in a certain mood. Doesn't really associate with the lower-downs.

Stephen: Assistant manager, Lesley brought him over from Bayshore or somewhere along with a few other employees because she likes to feel in control. Knows his music, pretty cool guy, lax for an assistant manager, doesn't ever lose his cool.

Robyn: Head supervisor number 1, reminds me of Jeff's sister in the way she speaks, claims to have seen every band live at some point in her life, get's stressed out when Lesley puts pressure on her, but generally a fun and nice person to work with.

Dave: Head supervisor number 2, possibly the funniest, whackiest guy I've ever met. The one with the bear and glasses for those of you who come in, though he's just shaved his beard "accidentally". Sings to himself and customers, makes random noises, broad musical taste, one of my favourite coworkers.

Katrina: Full-timer, a big nerd. Nobody seems to like her. She's a bit of a lazy employee and likes to delegate beyond her actual authority, kind of like Line at Pharmaplus, but she seems to like me because I like her. She's just nerdy and I know how to deal with nerds so we get along better than she seems to get along with most.

Natasha: Full-timer, seems to be angry a lot, I never have anything to say to her, but she seems to be alright with me. Quite funny with customers, I always like people who aren't afraid to be bitchy with bitch customers.

Alan: Full-timer, works in the basement in receiving most of the time, mid 30's gay man, haven't had much contact with him, but he seems to like me alright, and I think he's a bang-up dude.

Jeremy: Full-timer, newest full-timer, new-ish to Ottawa, a bit fruity but not flamboyant. ONe of my favourite coworkers because he's just such a nice guy really. I've had a drink with him one on one and he let me in on all the HMV secrets, because he doesn't care about the company at all, which is quite funny.

Erin: Keyholder, probably the hottest employee at HMV, hair used to be ultraviolet, but is now bright orange, a bit abrasive at times, but a real sweetie at heart, fun to work with, and easy on the eyes.

Jason: Keyholder, one of the most robotic people I've ever seen, recently left to work at a privately owned cd place in...perkins or some shit. Nice guy, not really noteworthy, especially now that he's gone.

Katherine: Keyholder (I think), the part-timer that works in receiving when Alan isn't, not much contact with her. She's alright.

Jessie: Part-timer, Jewish, the other hilarious member of staff, she and Dave are not allowed to be together around Robyn because they annoy her too much. Cancer survivor, openly/drunkenly admitted to me she had a crush on me on like my third day of employment, at The Brig, but then was cool with it the next time we saw eachother. She actually mentioned it again tonight at the bar for the first time since. She said she was glad she didn't see me the next day 'cause she actually was embarassed. Today she said "Jessie and James" with a valley girl lisp, and it totally hit me that together we are the members of Team Rocket. I explained it to her but she didn't really get it right away, but then fully accepted it, so now we are Team Rocket and are due to get rocket tatoos. One of my favourite employees, very fun to work with, and a hilarious girl.

Emily: Part-timer, proud Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys fan, raised in the country, now lives in the city. Funny, sarcastic girl, teams up with Jessie when they work together and they try to bug me all day but I'm a formidable opponent. Sweet girl, hilarious giggle, loves to answer the phones.

Sarah: Part-timer, another of my favourite employees. A witty girl, broad sense of humour, one of the earlier ones to open up to me, very sweet girls, always in a good mood...just all-round good girl and fun coworker.

Jon: Part-timer, everyone thinks he's hot, and he is, which is why he intimidates me. we always fumble around eachother. He's the kind of cool that always messes me up. The cool that doesn't care what I have to say, which gives me nothing to work with, and the kind of cool thta I look up to so I try extra hard to try to impress. I recently learned that he's actually pretty easy to get along with. Physically, he is a perfect blend of Evan Daubeny and Kris Laplante.

Curtis: Part-timer, a quiet punk lover, who actually was put on probation for not talking to customers enough a while back. Never really has anything to say, but also never really that awkward.

Ashley F: Part-timer, girl with purple hair. I'm glad to have learned that people don't really like her either, because I certainly don't. She's annoying. She'll poke me when I'm trying to serve customers AND when there are still customers in line to be served. I also just learned that she was also brought over from Lesley's store. I thought she was a temp as well when I started because she knows shit all. Bad employee, annoying human being who needs to grow up a little.

Jennie: Part-timer, French girl, lives in Aylmer, sharpest nose I've ever seen. Clean freak, very exact, leaves right when her shift is over, which I don't respect at all. Has a lot to say but not a lot of it important. Busing with her isn't awkward because she always is talking, but you know...that also sucks because I'd rather listen to music.

Jenn: Part-timer, Nick's ex-girlfriend and the one who got me the job. Nobody really likes her there and Lesley has actually been cutting down on her hours to reflect this and send a clear message. Bit of an annoying, abrasive person and employee a lot of the time, which is hard to deal with for most. She might not be around for too much longer, which I feel bad about but don't really mind at all.

Evan: Part-timer, I forgot about him because he's been gone for the holidays. Shares a lot of music taste with Dave, so the two get along. Talks more to girls. Has Evan Goldberg's handlebars and muttonchops. Kinda hard to find something relatable to talk about with him most of the time.

Katharine: New part-timer, very first temp, right before me. A good employee, and I always kinda knew it would be us two right from the beginning. Nice girl, and I respect her as an employee.

Ashley W: New Part-timer, Worked at HMV before, and applied again around Christmas but only was hired on as a temp, oddly enough. So she rightfully got hired on as an employee. She's alright, everyone seems to like her because they know her, I don't really see much in her personality other than that she's nice.

Gillan: New Part-timer, this one confuses me. The hiring that is. Seems like a nice guy. Was a temp that was hired way late in the game but seems to have made a lasting impression to be one of four temps hired on. I think he had a prior connection with erin. Guy seems alright I guess, but doesn't really stand out to me. Oh well, we're not really competition now!

And I think that's about it! Don't think I've forgotten anyone. So now you're all updated. Let my HMV career normalcy officially begin!

And yes, the title is an allusion to Colbert.

My Hands Are Green! [Jan. 3rd, 2008|03:15 am]
[Current Mood | satisfied]

1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Got a girl's number at a club/made out with two girls at a club in one night. What a dick response! Bear in mind it was the first and only time both of those happened!

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Don't think I had any last year, don't really have any this year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No one close to me, no.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not that I know of...

5. What countries did you visit?
None.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
A steady income...and a laptop!

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
October 23rd seems to be the only memore in my mind of any significance besides birthdays and holidays. It was the Shout Out Out Out Out show at Zaphods. Don't know why I remember the date though.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Hmmm....Yeah I'm gonna say the Maverick's show. That was sweet ass! Also FINALLY getting a job at HMV.

9. What was your biggest failure?
I think I failed Laura pretty bad and I feel guilty about the way I treated her a lot. I've been meaning to really apologise for everything I did to hurt her, but we haven't really had a heart to heart in a long time.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Pretty consistent year-round cold, as usual. Though Colbert breaking his wrist was almost like I broke my own...

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I started buying cd's again this year. Hadn't for a few years, and I enjoy my new ones. Was Venture Bros. Season 2 last year? OH bluh! My drumset!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow have put out some damn good movies this year, but I like Seth Rogen better and he's way funnier. So I'll say him.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and/or depressed?
Much Music. Their shows have all degraded into one big inside joke that nobody gets.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Drums were a big chunk, but over the full year, I'd say food, as usual.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I got crazy nervous/anxious/excited about my dates with Emilie, which is always my downfall. All of our shows were exciting. I was wary about Superbad before seeing it, but I got excited to see it twice and then a third time in theatre. I was probably most excited to see Nat when she came down for my birthday though.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
I can't think of a song that really sums up our year or says "2007" in it, so, a few years down the line, probably nothing. I'd have to look something up on Wikipedia and remember when it came out. Like Monster by YSPWSD or Your English is Good by TPC. But there were more songs I got into this year, they just weren't made this year.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. happier or sadder?

Definitely happier.

ii. thinner or fatter?

Fatter, in the sense that I'm heavier. But I think I'm getting a little more proportionate year by year.

iii. richer or poorer?

Richer, though I hate both of those words.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Commit to things, like school and saving and excercising and eating better. I smell a few resolutions coming on!

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Mope. Fixes nothing, makes myself and others sadder. I learned that halfway through the year, but I still slip up occasionally.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent it at home, it was nice!

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Fall in love? No. I was still dating Laura at the beginning of the year, but I didn't fall in love with anyone new afterward.

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Colbert, Venture Bros, Frisky Dingo was a nice surprise this year, got more into Home Movies...Not many new ones or new seasons of anything.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Ummm.....Not hate...No not really. Like less maybe.

26. What was the best book you read?
I Am America (And So Can You!)

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Shout Out Out Out Out, You Say Party! We Say Die!, Born Ruffians, more dancy and electro stuff this year.

28. What did you want and get?
Drums, job at HMV, to make out with a hot girl.

29. What did you want and not get?
A working relationship, A Laptop, an education, Rachel Bilson.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Definitely Superbad.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 19 this year, and Nat came here on my birthday, so we all went to Zaphods, my first time (well, officially) and we had SUCH a fun time!...Sorry Jeff.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
MCSE certification that I may have paid 15 000 dollars for. A fucking woman-mind-reader!

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Closer to what I'm looking for.

34. What kept you sane?
Who says I'm sane? Lack of routine made me a little insane. Friends kept me sane.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Becky Ninkovic, Rachel Bilson.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Colbert's writers going on strike. Now I have no political influence at all!

37. Who did you miss?
I miss Colbert now! My friends who all moved to Montreal this year. Cindy and Jeff when we weren't really hanging out as much at the beginning of the year.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Madison was really cool, I'm glad to have met her. Dave at work is a fucking riot, and a few more people there I'm glad to have met. Finally officially meeting Laura and Phil was great. Liam was good while he lasted. Can't remember anyone else.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007?
I've learned a lot this year. Many lessons.

In 2007 did you:
1. Go to a party? Indeed!
2. Try something new? Uh...Thai Express?
3. Has someone change your life? Everyone helps shape my life, new and old.
4. Kiss someone? A few people. Wait...5 people. And I kissed Madison on the cheek before she left for New Zealand ^_^
5. Tell your family and friends you love them? Every second of every day. I love you guys!
6. Buy something extravagant? Everything I buy is extravagant.
7. Done something nice for someone? Nah, not my style man.
8. Do something terribly wrong? This year?....mmmmaybe? Probably.
9. Move? No...
10. Go to a concert? Even played my own!

Best of the Year:
1. Party: Going to Zaphods with friends and Nat was honestly one of the funnest times I've ever had. Our New Year's party last year was awesome as shit. Jeff's party was balls to the wall. Cindy's birthday was the equivalent to sex. I'm sure there were more that were fuckin' sick ass as well.
2. Show: New show?...South Park was okay this year...Colbert was solid, though he lost Better Know A District, like my favourite segment, umm...Like I said, Frisky Dingo was probably the best surprise this year. My Dad The Rockstar!
3. CD: Holy Fuck - LP, YSPWSD - Lose All Time, Radiohead - In Rainbows
4. Movie: Superbad
5. Song: TPC - Your English Is Good, YSPWSD - Monster, Holy Fuck - ...most of the songs on that album...Pulse, Royal Gregory, Safari...basically all of them, solid album. Shout Out Out Out Out - In The End It's Your Friends That Will Fuck You Over (new song they played at their show).
6. Experience: Got noticed by girls a lot this year, like the first year it's consistently happened. Maverick's show was great, SO4 was great, my birthday was great, Montreal trips were great.
7. Concert: Shout Out Out Out Out at Zaphods was fantastic, I really liked YSPWSD in Montreal too.
8. Book: I Am America (And So Can You!)
9. Month: Some time in the summer. July probably.
10. Day: Canada Day was sick. That and Christmas are Usually my favourite holidays. 4/20 was hilarious too!

Worst of the Year:
1. Party: I honestly can't remember this party you guys are talking about with Liam and Cody you guys. I remember running out of Terminus with Cody, and out of La Brass with Pat, but not that one. Fill me in please.
2. Show: Sons Of Butcher, hands down.
3. CD: Gummibär is one of the worst things I've ever heard.
4. Movie: I'm sure there was something horrible out there that I didn't bother with. Didn't see too many new movies this year though.
5. Song: Onerepublic - Apologise
6. Experience: Probably dealing with old gay men hitting on me on several occasions this year.
7. Concert: Those dirty, dickrockers who played between YSPWSD and Malajube.
8. Book: Don't know if I read anything else this year. Some Microsoft book?
9. Month: January was still a hard time. But a lot of this year was kinda shitty with school, and crappy phone survey/curling club jobs.
10. Day: Don't happen to recall...

Hopes for 2008:

1. Predict something that you think will happen in 2008? Jeff will get laid.
2. What do you hope changes about your country? Cost of everything needs to go down. It's supposed to.
3. What do you hope for yourself? Learning.
4. What do you hope for your family? God.
5. What do you hope for your best friends? Get into school and have fun there.
6. What do you hope for the rest of your friends? Whatever they desire.
7. What is your hope for 2008? Like...in general? Or for myself again? Ummm....I hope we're all happy no matter where we end up.

During 2007:
where were you when it began: Patsy's casa.
did you stay up: Yes.
what was your new year wish? For things to go back to normal. They did.
how many girlfriends/boyrfriends: One.
broke up: Yes.
have any crushes?: Yes.
care to mention names? Madison was really cool man! And I thought Emilie was...not nuts lol.
new friends: Not many stuck around really...no new ones anyway.
win anything? Round one of the battle of the bands shit. Oh, and hopefully my employment!
best place you went to: Zaphods. ^_^
worst place you went to: Strategic Counsel.
happiest moment: Being at Zaphods for the first time with Cindy and Nat and everyone else who showed up...sorry Jeff lol.
how was your birthday: Zut alors! Zat eez what I am talking about! Mon dieu!

And it's done! This year will be better most likely. I mean, Cindy DID predict it! Have a killer new year y'all.

Little Rideau tale for you kids:
So I finished at 12 tonight. Some colourful characters at Rideau on a saturday at midnight. I sat in the foodcourt for a while waiting for my bus at 12:40. Didn't actually get out of the store til about 20 after. Rideau is so weird when it's empty, I meant to take a picture. Anyway, I went upstairs and I saw a man of about 50 looking sort of lost and out of place. My customer service "can I help you?" attitude kicks in. I'm listening to music at this point, so I try to make eye contact and shoot him an "are you okay?" look. He meets my eye, then looks away, so I look away, then he looks back at me, so I do, we play eye tag until I take of my head phones and ask him if he needs help. The conversation goes as follows:
"A-..are you okay sir?"
"I'm in downtown,yes?" *Thick German accent, slight gay lisp*
"Uh yes, right downtown."
"Okay, sorry, I don't know this, I'm a tourist."
"...Yes."
"Okay, I'm looking for...oh how you say...not hang out.....uhhh...Companionship."
*Now for a split second I was thinking he was looking for a place to hang out, when he originally said hangout, so my naive self thought he was an innocent old man looking for some friends...but the way he said companionship definitely did not imply a friendly hangout, and about two seconds later, he confirmed my inner discussion by finishing his sentence with:
"And I'm willing to pay for it."
"Aha, oh!" *Still in "Can I help you?" mode from work.*
"But I'm not looking for a lady. I'm looking for a younger man. Much like yourself"
"Ahh I see. Well you might try further in the market, you should be able to find something there I'm sure."
"Oh....where?"
*I took him outside and showed him the direction to walk in and on the way outside he just slipped in a:
"...You wouldn't be interested in anything would you?"
"Oh. No. No, sorry....no."

So I show him where to walk, then I go to my bus stop, looking over my shoulder. I lose sight of him for a while, then about 5 minutes later, I see him running across the street in my direction. Then he saw my face and turned away. From the expression on his face I knew exactly what he though. He saw me standing by myself waiting for a bus and must've thought I was standing there for another reason, he crossed the street, then saw I was the same person and gave me a "whoops, nevermind, I already asked you" kind of look, then headed off down Rideau street again.

A little creepy in retrospect, but I was totally fine during, 'cause I was totally in customer service mode, it was hilarious. Plus he had a delightful accent on, whereas someone with no accent would be infinitely creepier in the same situation, in my opinion. I'm used to taking people to the section they're looking for music in, so I felt bad not walking him like all the way to dalhousie. Maybe I should've just let him have sex with me just to be a good service rep, you know. Lol ewww! But that's totally the thought process! (Not literally!) But I mean, I always feels bad when I can't find the thing people are looking for and can't help them out completely, so when I need to help someone, I really don't want to give them faulty information or anything!

Man, I apologize for the awful writing! I'm so tired and worn out right now, that I can just tell there's absolutely no enthusiasm in my writing. My story would sound crazier if I wrote it with a little more bounce to it! Anyway, New Year's post on it's way. I'll probably just pull up last year's survey again unless someone does it first, or comes up with a new one. I would also like to add that I enjoyed giving candy canes to pretty girls all christmas season at work. I saved them only for the pretty girls, and it totally lit up their faces when I offered them one! It was so fun! Anyway, might go watch Akira by myself, or some arrested development or maybe...sleeeep. I have the day off tomorrow. But we'll see. I almost one a super exclusive Venture Bros shirt from Jackson Publick's LJ, but I didn't...I was one of the first comments, and it was a contest, but I got the answer wrong soo...I didn't win. Ugh this entry is PAINFUL. I apologize again.

Night!

Random Bus Encounter [Dec. 16th, 2007|08:09 pm]
Had a bus encounter today. First in a while. Some girl sat next to me in the three seater in the back of the bus and apologised for sitting next to me I guess or for putting her stuff in the middle seat, I said "it's cool". And that was that. But I totally knew we were going to end up talking more later. Don't know why. So I took off my jacket and slyly unzipped my sweater to slightly show the hmv logo 'cause I figured it would spark some conversation, even though I was listening to music. So after a while she asked the semi french guy ahead of her if the bus was turning into a 51 and he said "I don't know, I think so, I don't know" kinda thing. And I heard this 'cause my music was quiet at the time. So I took off my headphones and said "51?" she nodded, then I pulled out my schedule to show that it was turning into the 52. She said damn, and I admitted that I was glad it was a 52, but now I feel guilty 'cause she had a long walk, and she laughed. Then she asked if I worked at Hmv (it paid off!) and I said yeah and she said she worked at american eagle, and blah blah blah, we talked the whole busride and it turns out she's dating Sean Christie! So we talked about people we knew blah blah. She was pretty pretty. Kind of like Rosanna if Rosanna looked more like...a girl. She convided a lot of stuff in me which I've always wanted to do to some other stranger, but it was cool to have done unto me. She'd broken up with Sean a month ago and only got back together with him because he took it so badly. I told her she should never have to force her feelings, but I didn't want to give like solid advice 'cause I don't want to be responsible for a break up or a trapped unhappy girl. She's 17 and she's dating Sean at 2...1...21 I believe. Which presents problems for the two. So yeah, it was a cool conversation and she should be in hmv again some time soon, because she goes there a lot anyway.

I'll post again before christmas.

[Current Music |Holy Fuck - Safari, Shout Out Out Out Out - Your Shitty Record Won't Mix Itself]

Last night I finished at midnight. My bus schedule was taken out of my room by someone in my family, so I didn't have one on me. I waited outside in the cold for an hour waiting for a bus, but one never came. So I had to try and get a cab, even though everytime I saw one coming, someone else would wave it down. I finally got one and he tells me the parkway is closed. We slipped and slided all the way home where mum was on the couch waiting for me to come home. I was freakin' freezing, but mum made me hot chocolate and got me a hot water bottle for my feet which was very sweet, and I got to sit by the christmas tree which was done up that night while I was at work, which is okay 'cause it's kind of a pain in the ass to do.

Love Only 'Cause It's Too Hard To Not [Nov. 16th, 2007|01:44 am]
[Current Mood | tipsy]
[Current Music |Holy Fuck, gonna pick up LP tomorrow!]

Alright here it is. I'll do my best, but I'm afraid I'll just give you a condensed version of catch-up 'cause it's been a while and I don't care to go into detail. I'm just making sure everyone is caught up so future stories will make sense.

I'm not in school anymore. I've dropped out. It was pointless to stay in I decided, and I don't regret my decision. I worked at TSC for a while, then I quit, which was really funny, and I am crazy happy to be out of there. I worked at Jeff's Second Cup for about a week, with Cindy too, and it was great. I love the workers, the family there. It was good to see people I'd see every now and then on a day-to-day basis. Especially Steve. If you've ever hung out with Jeff after his shift, and he's in guy mode, going on about dick jokes and hot girls, it's because he just worked with Steve. For this reason, I didn't like Steve. I didn't like someone who could influence my friend so much. PLus I didn't think he was funny. But Jeff seemed to like him. After working with him for like every shift and have him train me, I get the attraction. He's a definite guy's guy, and funnier and nicer than he comes off. You'll have to excuse my poor grammar, I'm a little bit tipsy (I'll get to that later). So everything's going well for a couple days when Jen calls me one morning saying I have an interview at HMV. So this is super bittersweet, 'cause here I am doing well at Second Cup and enjoying myself, but now I have another opportunity I've been waiting forever for. So I went into my interview not expecting much, not too nervous because of it, and I ended up knocking it out of the park. The manager loves me, I got 100% on the music quiz which she's never seen before, and I found out that she's been working at HMV for 20 years now (not the same store, but the company), and she hires me on the spot. So I'm hopeful that I'll be able to work both jobs, but the bosses at Second Cup don't want me to, they want full availability from me, which I find unreasonable since I'm willing to give the majority of my time to them. But since I have to make a choice, the only factor that influenced my choice more than the fact that the HMV boss was way cooler about my availability, was the fucking e-learning. Jeff and Cindy will back me up on this. E-learning is basically second cup training on the internet. It's tedious, it's arduous, and it's fucking creepy when they talk about "Our Leader". So I decided to go with HMV. Only then did I really find out that I'm being hired on as a temp for the holiday season, and they only ever keep a handful of temps on after the season. I'm alright with that though, because right off the bat, I'm fairly confident with my skills. I've worked retail before, I know cash, I know the product very well having been a shopper at HMV forever, and I've seen the competition. I'm way more confident know than I ever was in the beginning.

I've been at HMV for a week or so now, and I really am loving it. Like, it's work. I wake up, I don't wanna go, but once I'm there, it really is fun. The only thing I've been unsure about is the people. Second Cup is a great little family and I felt like kind of an outcast. But I worked today from 5:30 to 9:30, a great little shift. 4 hours seems like a pointless shift all the time, but it's nice a t HMV. The fact that I'm working til 9:30 and not just 9 insinuates that I'll be getting a cash, so a half hour of the time will be cashing out, plus HMV cash is really fun. So I walk around, put out some product, talk to customers, and go on cash once or twice when I have to. Today they were training a new girl, and the guy I had my first shift with on cash, and I've been on cash for a couple days and am totally fluent in it(...o_O?). Now this is the 6'5" metal head idiot, who doesn't have a clue. He wants to be manager. Not gonna happen. He asks how many shifts I've had, I hint at it but dodge the subject in case he has a case to get more shifts himself, and he's just heartbroken that they don't like him. He's an idiot. So at the end of the shift, coworkers start to show up, and I'm wondering if there's an overnight shift going on or something. So I cash out super fast, I'm already used to it, and talk to Jeremy as he overlooks the other two try to figure out what money is (they're both pretty dumb), and I ask him what's going on, and he and Jennie (a fellow Aylmerian) tell me that everyone's going out to a pub. It's a new tradition to go out to the Brig every payday and they invite me along. So I discover that it's payday and I've been paid 77 bucks, BEFORE I'VE GOTTEN MY SECOND CUP PAYCHEQUE! I'm hesitant, but I can never pass up a chance to be social with coworkers outside of work. Time to prove myself! Luckily the metal head wants to come along, after learning that I'm gonna go, so I look good in comparison all night. We go to the Brig, which is just on the otherside of the Barefax, next to Zaphods. I got a couple drinks, I talked to Dave about Holy Fuck for a while, talk to Jeremy, Jen is sitting next to me. Fucking Metal Head goes on and on about the music he likes. He doesn't get the hint. As soon as I realise someone in particular doesn't like my taste in music, I tend to NOT recommend stuff to them that I know they won't like. This guy just won't get the hint that I don't like metal, and I don't want to see his band. Again, I look good in comparison. As the night goes on, and I get more and more tipry, Jessie, the Ardy lookalike jewish girl who went to catholic school (funny little tidbit) admits to me that she thinks I'm super cute and she has a cruch on me, and that she will definitely regret saying this the next day, but I just laugh and feel super good about myself. This is the girl that found me through Jen on facebook and added me. Then someone tells me that Erin thought/thinks I'm hot too, but I've totally gotten over her. Jeff, you can have her, she's pretty cool. So I feel good, I'm glad that my coworkers seem to like me, then Jeremy basically tells me I'm a shoe-in. He's explaining, kind of directed at me that everyone likes me, and then metal head is asking questions and Jeremy shuns him and keeps talking to me. They usually hire like 10 people on afterward, we don't have nearly that many temps yet, but I guess we'll see. But sales are way down this year 'cause downloads are up, plus musicworld is going bankrupt and competition is a good thing, and blah blah blah, so they should be hiring 4 or 5. And he says that I shouldn't worry about it. So I'm pretty excited! I love Jeremy and Dave so far. Jessie seems awesome, like super jewishly funny (Jerry Seinfeld jewish, not Ben Stein jewish), and I really like Jon but he scares me. I like shy people, which is why I liked Jeremy initially, and Dave is a big goof, you can't not like this guy. But I kept messing Jon up yesterday. I switched out the label sticker things while he was printing some out, I exited a program he was using, I just kept messing him up. And he took it well, said don't worry, but like...ugh. He's the one that's a mix between Evan and Kris. He's really quiet, but in a cool way, not a shy way, so he intimidates me. And I always like the cool quiet guys that I don't get, and they never seem to like me because I don't know how to act around them. They're the one type of person I don't know how to be around. Them and girls. So I think he's cool, but he intimidates me. I always want to call him Scott, and to call Dave Rob. I don't know why. They look like those names.

So yeah, this is my long catch up post. Or that was it I guess. I think I'm done. I'm still a little tipsy, so forgive any incontinuities (good word!). Oh yeah, also, last week Jeff and I went to Madison's going away party. It was really fun, and I got a kiss on the cheek from her! And on the Emilie front, I txted her again tonight because I forgot to call. so another drunken txt and another promise to call her. I really do like her, but she confuses me and scares the shit out of me. Simultaneously. An odd combination really. Gnight!

This is a great clip from the Girl video, "Yeah Right". It's a bunch of guys on the Girl team skating around on boards that are completely green, and then edited out in post using the greenscreen effect. And the music is by John Frusciante (the guitarist of RHCP, for those of you who aren't Jeff).

[Current Music |Holy Fuck, Shout Out Out Out Out]

You know, this has been bugging me for a while. I keep meaning to bring it up but I always forget.

When I'm walking outside, down the sidewalk or whatever, I can look at a spot on the ground a few steps ahead and I'll always know which foot will be the one to step on that spot. I don't change my steps at all, I'm just able to make that estimation flawlessly. Now I've been wondering why lately. Like I always just do this subconsciously, but I've been noticing it lately. I've wondered if it's just a natural sixth sense, or if everyone is like this. Or if I really was changing my stepping pattern to get the foot I want to land on it. But it just occurred to me as I went downstairs. There was a small Garfield ball on the ground and I went to kick it. I was able to plan my steps to get my strong foot to the ball without jumping too far or taking small goofy steps. It's because of soccer! Years of soccer has taught me this utterly useless skill! I'm trained to put my foot where I want it, when I want it there. So thank you Soccer Chelsea! I'll never forget!

I really need an actual entry, it's been so long and so much has happened lately that not everyone is aware of I guess. But I have free time now, so I will do it some time this week. I promise!

The Dick Ex-Boyfriend From Shaun Of The Dead [Oct. 28th, 2007|03:12 am]
Quite a funny Irish comedian I think, mainly because of his lazy speech patterns lol.

p.s. I hate girls, and girl trouble and drama was supposed to go out with jumior high. UGH.

Oh yeah, forgot to officially mention on here that I have a date with Emilie on saturday. The one whose number I got at Zaphods. So yeah, that's what's going on. I'm excited and nervous and crazy over it lol, but we'll see what happens.

Also, I quit my job today on impulse. It was quite hilarious! So I'll either apply at Ekos, or I may be like out of school, we'll see, so I may get a full time job. WE SHALL SEE!!!

Night.

Man, I woke up this morning, and sometimes I wake up with a jerk, and it's usually in my leg. So the same thing happens, my leg muscle spasms and I wake up, but then...you know when you get a foot cramp and it contorts and hurts like a mother fucker? This has happened to me once before in a pool. Anyway, that's what my calf muscle did. It rolled up like those pull-down blinds. It hurt so fucking much, and lasted like 30 seconds. And I had to keep rubbing it and trying to stretch it out further and further, and now it's kinda hard to walk 'cause it's not fully relaxed again. It hurt so fucking much!

[Current Location |school]

When recalling (which is a word I love) dreams, I only remember the action beats really, and then I try to fill in the rest by coming up with all the possible things that could've happened between the two action beats, and when I remember the actual one, I know. So I'll try doing the best I can to remember my dream last night,'cause I told Jeff I would. Here we go.

There were kinda two parts to the dream. Not really connected at all. the firs part, I met this girl. A pretty girl in kind of a normal way. Not normal pretty...but, more like she looked like a normal girl, but there was something about her that was pretty. I can't remember where I met her, but it wasn't Madison I swear lol. So I started hanging out with this girl, and Cindy got really pissed off. Jeff was like "...who cares, be happy for him" but Cindy was a total bitch to me, and I wasn't even like seeing this girl everyday, it was like once a week for like 2 weeks. So I'm trying to like talk some sense into her, and she's just like "whatever, it doesn't matter" so I'm like "...okay." So I hang out with this girl again, and we're hanging out in an abandoned subway station. It's the creepiest shit ever. Like half big empty sewers, half big empty subway station. And it was really fun. Then we came out the other end and we were sitting on a grassy hill, and it was quite pleasant. But I didn't know why Cindy hated me, so it bugged me. Then skip to the next dream.

Mum, in real life, is going to Quebec City this weekend with Yves and gma and gpa, so in my dream, Nick was over, and was all like pathetically sweet to all of us, so we were wondering if Sarah was like beating him or something. Like he was so happy to be over at our house and was eating food like it was his last meal. So mum goes away for the weekend and Britt and I are left at home, and Nick is still there, and Jeff was over. So Jeff and I are hanging out in my room talking and shit, and we look down at the shelf under my tv which is now full of dvd's that I don't own. And he's like "wtf are those?" And I just knew all of a sudden, so I'm like "Oh, didn't I tell you? Those are Brittany Gagne's, she spent the night last night." He's like "WTF?! NO you didn't tell me!" and I'm just like "Oh, sorry, guess I forgot" treating it like it's no big deal, but I'd totally tell him right away, I'd like call Cindy and Jeff that night to tell them! And I was remembering that yeah, she spent the night and we watched her movies, and she'd be back to watch more, which would be pretty sweet lol. I don't know where she came from though! Or this normal/pretty girl in my other dream. So we're sitting there and I hear a noise outside my door, like a crash. so I look, and the hall is filled with drunken idiots. I'm like "...what the hell?" I look around, see Nick upstairs as well, totally drunk, and he's having a fucking party! There's music and food everywhere, I'm walking around my house which is now like a fucking mansion, and there are people and kegs and food and just drunken behaviour everywhere lol. So I go back upstairs and grab Nick's drunken ass and yell at him "wtf are you doing?! Why would you have a party here?1 what's wrong with your house you ashole?!" And like Sarah was there too, his patheticness was all an act, he just wanted a party in my house! So I go back into my room where Jeff is, and I'm like super pissed off still, so I sit back on the bed in silence. Eventually I look over at Jeff and I can tell there's something wrong with him. So I put my arm up and start like scratching the back of his head, and like instantaneously he breaks down and starts crying and like wraps his arms around me and he's a total mess. It was quite funny lol. So yeah, I don't kknow what the hell his problem is, he's just bawling his eyes out and I'm trying to comfort him. So the noise is getting louder, things are getting out of control, it's like 3am at this point, so I have to leave Jeff, tell him I'll be right back, and I go outside, and...the mansion isn't so much a well thought out piece of architecture, it's more like (only Jeff will get this) the mansion in pokemon 3, the weird dream mansion with crazy rooms that aren't really rooms and appear magically and whatever. So I wind up in this room that just has a huge pool in it, and I go for a swim, and climb on top of this impossibly huge inflatable toy thing, and I'm like way above the water now, which is cool. And the butler asks "Master James, is everything alright?" And I'm like "No Rupert, this party business is stressing me out" and we talk for a while, and I feel better. so I decide to go back and see Jeff, so I bring the inflatable tower with me (don't know why, thought Jeff might like it), and he's not there anymore. So I leave it on my top bunk, where the inflatable boat is in real life, or was, and head out again. This time I'm on Klock street, which is broad street but just on the other side of the highway, and I see Nick crying in the middle of the street. Great. So I go over and see what's going on, and he says he's writing apology letters to everyone! I'm like "aw, that's sweet!" So I'm looking at his letters, and they have the worst writing ever. He's fucking drunk out of his mind. So there's one to mum and to Sarah, and then there's one that has "Eerl" across the top. I assumed "Earl" was his landlord, so I say to Nick "Uh...I think you misspelled this one" He goes "No that's how it's spelled." I'm like...okay. Then I look at it carefully and like squint and shit, and it turns out it actually says "BRITT" in like cryptically bad writing! Which was actually a little impressive! So I help him gather them up, and he's like "Thanks!" and he stuffs them into a sewer in the street, and then he like fucking drives off without a car, like he just has wheels and he drives back towards the house, with a sense of accomplishment. I yell after him "Wait! Where the fuck is my letter?!?!" So I'm super pissed off at this point, it's like 5 or 6 am now, so I go home and see Jeff lying in bed, and I felt like shit 'cause I didn't make him feel better, and then I went to sleep.

When I woke up this morning, I remembered that Jeff got his hair cut yesterday or the day before, and I didn't say anything about his hair, so I felt bad and txted him, and he's like "You think of this now?!" or something. So I think this dream was all about the one point where I rubbed his hair, just a subconscious reminder to tell Jeff his hair looked good lol!

...So for those of you who DIDN'T get it, that last post was about Madison. I saw her again for the first time since LAST time. You know when you don't see someone for a while whom you don't really know, and they kind of look like a few people, so their face gets a little skewed in your mind and you end up forgetting what they look like? Well this happened to my vision of Madison. And wow, she's a lot better looking then I remember her being. She's shorter than I thought, which I like, I finally got to see her body which is quite nice. But yeah, she's a very pretty girl. And she remembered me and we talked, her and her friend Christina (actually I picture her name being spelt "Cristina"...don't know why, I'll have to ask), who is probably the second best looking person, but her personality isn't as cool. So it was a very nice to surprise to see Madison again, have her look way better than I remember, have her be way cooler than I remember, and have her voice sound so awesome, just like I remember. Imagine Drew Barrymore's speech pattern on a NON-retard sounding person. Very cool...ugh...why does she have to leave?! This is the first person in a very long time I have explicitly liked, and she's leaving in a month. And she doesn't work often so I don't get a chance to see her often and build a rapport. Bleh...I'll see if she has facebook, if she tells me her last name, it shows a bit of trust, and then I guess we can stay in touch? Even if she's backpacking around New Zealand...o_O. Oh, the California thing is because she's going there first for a month. But yeah. Oh yeah, I had a fucking hour and a hlaf long survey with a guy today that made me leave like 40 minutes late. I couldn't believe it. I stood up and started pacing by the end, and covering the phone and grunting, some old lady was trying to avoid looking at me. So I looked at her and shot myself in the head, to no reaction. But Jeff came in and had a look around and saw Madison and Matt, the cool supervisor. So that was cool.

So yeah, I guess I'm really liking Madison, and I wish I could like hang out with her more...and you know, that she wasn't leaving for a year. She was moving to montreal before she decided to leave! We could've both moved to montreal! And hung out around montreal! Ugh! Damn you friend in New Zealand. I hate you! I HATE YOU! lolol man I've seen this girl twice? I'm just excited about liking someone. There'll be others. Maybe she'll stay for me! lol, anyway. Paul Rudd starred in a movie in 1999 about different young adults in New York on New Year's eve in 1981. And he was funny then! He's a funny guy! And he looks young in this too, it's neat! Anyway, Madison, if you find this somehow, I think you're wicked hot and wicked awesome and wicked in general and have a wicked voice, and I think you should not go to New Zealand so that I can hang out with you and you can like me! Yay! Oh, also, I can't remember if you're 21 or 22. I thought 22, but I apparently wrote 21 in my lj post about you which was soon after I met you. sooo...get back to me!

Man, aside from Paul Rudd, this movie has Courtney Love, Christina Ricci, Kate Hudson, Jay Mohr, Ben Affleck, Casey Affleck, Dave Chappelle, and a few others I recognize. Man...what a 90's cast! Holy shit! It's like, all of their seperate stories on the same night kinda thing. Called 200 Cigarettes. Not saying it's particularly good, just...a definite time capsule. But Paul Rudd is hilarious. Night!

This Is From Facebook, But I Switched It 'Cause One Of The First Answers Is Not For Facebook To See [Sep. 28th, 2007|04:37 am]
[Current Mood | meh]
[Current Music |"A hundred million people goin' MY WAY NOW!"]

2:48am Friday, September 29, 2007

Time Started: 2:48

Name: James Noel Knud Taylor-Geertsen

Gender: Male

1.) When showering, do you start the water and then get in or get in and start the water?
The former.

2.) Do you read the labels on the shampoo bottle?
What else am I gonna do in there?!

3.) Do you moan in the shower like the people on the herbal essence commercials?
I would say that's more like...well like sream-moaning. Screamoaning. And no. I sing!

4.) Have you ever showered with someone of the opposite sex?
Yes

5.) Have you ever been forced to shower with one of your siblings?
Like...lately?!

6.) Have you ever brushed your teeth in the shower?
Haha no, but that's a good idea!

7.) Have you ever dropped your soap on your foot?
Yeah, it hurts when it's a new bar, 'cause it's heavy and has edges!

8.) How old do you look?
Up until like a year ago...like 14? I think I look more my age now. Well I hope so.

9.) How old do you act?
This hasn't even asked me how old I am yet! I would like to think I act 19. Because that's how old I AM!

10.) What's the last song you heard/sang?
Last full song was La Ferassie by TPC, then I heard the beginning of Young Folks by Peter, Bjorn, and John whilst listening to my PSP with the headphones out walking home. Little tip: Don't audibly listen to Idioteque by Radiohead at night, it'll freak you right the hell out.

11.) Have you recently become a member of anything?
Heritage? The Strategic Counsel?

12.) What are your plans for the weekend? Apparently none. But Born Ruffians on Tuesday night hopefully!

13.) What is your mood at the moment?
Kinda tired but I don't really mind. Tomorrow I'm doing nothing after having a week of full-schedule-age. And happy, 'cause I just saw the perfect woman specimen. Perfectly proportional and just downright fucking GORGEOUS.

14.) Have you ever ridden a mechanical bull?
lolol I wish! But I just have a feeling that I'd be like inexplicably pregnant afterward.

15) Do you ever intentionally vomit after drinking? No. The only time I've been drunk enough where inducing vomit would have been a good idea, nature took it's course and it happened by itself.

16.) If you were working on a pirate ship, what would you most likely be?
Filthy and downright unhappy. Or captain.

17.) Have you ever called anyone a slut?
Of course not, that might hurt somebody's feelings! I don't know, maybe my sister?

18.) Has anyone ever called you a slut?
I hope so. Actually, maybe Graham LOLOL!

19). Have you ever smuggled something into America?
I think when I was younger, and we drove into America (which has been like thrice now), and mum or my grandparents told me about customs and border shit and all that, I was worried that they would take my toys or something. I'm probably making this up.

20.) Does playing a guitar make someone more attractive?
There's a certain type of guy that looks good playing a guitar. I think I fall into that category. Cody looks wicked playing. And girls would look better playing bass, but all bass playing girls are big and ugly. Oh, I remember when I was dating Cindy and I first saw her playing bass at church in her sunglasses, it looked really hot. So yeah, a girl who plays bass is A OKAY.

21.) Do you live in a city with a good sports team?
I used to live in Chelsea which was fuckin' nuts for Soccer. Aylmer's good at...Hockey? Polo? Shotput? lol, what are we good at? Oh, and if you take Ottawa into consideration, the Sens are pretty good. Or they were when they still had Chara...idiots.

22). Have you ever finished off the popcorn?
I always do. I'm a seed-a-holic! Well I used to be, now I realize that the popcorn really is the best part lol

23). Have you ever turned someone down for a date?
Ummm....oh yes. Many times actually. The only girls who initially like me are fat and gross and awkward. All or most of the girls I've dated are the ones I actually went for and was lucky enough to get.

24.) What's your favorite super-hero?
Well, I am a die-hard Spidey fan. I like to think I posses some Spider-man qualities, whatever they may be. Or I would if I were a mutant. And Nightcrawler too. But of the x-men, Gambit has to be my favourite. It's a toss-up between Gambit and Spider-man.

25.) Do you have more enemies or more friends?
For a while I had very few friends. But people are fickle and vendettas are fleeting among my crowd.

26.) Have you ever sent an anonymous letter?
No...maybe I should!

27.) Can you fix your own car?
It'd be fun to tinker around in one, but I only would if I had an expert on the subject with me.

28). Do you like staying up late?
I do, but I usually regret it. I just can't sleep right away, so I stay up until I reach the point where I'd usually just pass out from exhaustion anyway...or far beyond it.

29.) Are you smarter than your friends?
HOH. MUCH smarter. I give them false hope, let them think they've got some intelligence, but they really don't know about my master plans. I am the puppet-master among my marionette friends.

30.) Have you ever stolen anything from your friends?
From my friends?....I don't think so. But Nick and I stole a bunch of Marvel cards from David Jones, one of our neighbors, when they were all out and we went over to feed their pets and chickens and stuff. I'll never forget it. And it seemed so menial back then. I think it kind of affected me somehow, because I really will never forget about it.

31.) Have you ever been to jail? I've been inside Kingston Penitentiary. But we didn't see any criminals in cells.

32.) Last thing you bought over 50 dollars?
Last time I had fifty dollars to my name....Probably some dumb DVD or something...hmmm....50 dollars....maybe even my drumset? Yeah, I was running low on money soon after...I don't really plan well. Especially financially.

33) Do you like the smell of beer?
The SMELL? I don't really mind the smell of beer itself, just people's breath after they drink it.

34.) Have you ever died or killed someone in a dream? The only time I actually remember myself DYING was one of the earliest dreams I remember in which I was eaten by a T-rex. I have a lot of fucking SCARY dinosaur nightmares. Not lately, but when I get nightmares, it's occasionally ghosts, sometimes with people like in the house or somewhere shady, and sometimes with big freaky animals. But usually dinosaurs. Which may seem silly, but they're really friggin scary. My dad used to tell us about the bear dreams he used to have, and Nick ended up getting them pretty badly.

35.) Have you ever given to charity?
I give to church which, according to the Revenue agency, counts as a charity.

36.) Would you kill a dog for $1000?
lol no probably not. Unless nobody knew about it. MUAHAHA!!!

37.) Do you ever get depressed?
I don't know what qualifies as like clinically depressed, but I've gone through some rough patches in the past. I'm probably just overly emotional, but I've had to deal with like best-friend-cutting-themself kinda shit. And I was always the guy people came to, so it was a little hard to deal with some shit.

38.) Do you live with your parents?
MY PARENTS ARE DIVORCED. ><
...yeah, with my mum.

39.) Do you have plans for your future?
I have no friggin idea what will come in the future. Be able to see Nat a lot more than I am now at some point in the future hopefully, what with her being awesome and all! Uh, get married and have family and all that someday, I just really want it to be with the right person. Job...I have no clue.

Hmm...Hockey can get pretty exciting. Soccer and Volleyball are fun to play. I'd say tennis is my favourite sport to watch tv, and I feel smart being able to follow along better than most people. And Snowboarding is probably the funnest sport, but it's so much work and money to get out to Fortune.

When was the last time you saw your dad?
...Hmmmm....Few months ago?

What did you have for dinner last night?
Maybe I was able to get NYF? No probably not...So nothing I guess.

Look to your left, what do you see?
Kitty litter box.

Do you have plants in your room?
No

What's your favorite starbucks drink?
Eff starbucks, my favourite Second Cup drink is my customized concoction Jeff whips up for me when I go there! Strawberry Banana Deliciousness!

Recent time you were really upset?
Couple days ago. Probably some point today. I'm a way too angry person.

Will Shame Drive You Home? [Sep. 26th, 2007|11:42 pm]
[Current Mood |busy]
[Current Music |Sebastien Grainger et les Montagnes - Ways To Come Home]

So on the bus ride home, at a quarter to eleven on a thursday night, I saw two shopping carts on top of a bus shelter. At 10:45. On a thursday night!

Walking home, I whipped up a quick new list in my head. Of drummers who have helped or inspired me along the way. In chronological order:

-Drummer from The Bravery: Not a very good drummer, but his style was most like mine when I first started (church drumming basically), and I happened to be listening to them at the time.
-Paul Thompson of Franz: His crazy dance style is the one I had been looking for. Listening to his drumming helped me to understand the basic dance drumbeat. I would also like to make him an honorable mention of my "best drummers" list!
-Sebastien Grainger: He (indirectly) taught me the throbbing kind of beat, with snare hits and bass hits alternating on every half beat, a style of come to use more and more, and get better at (hopefully).
-Greg Alsop of TPC: His outside-the-box style of drumming inspires me to break the mold more often, and follow the technicalities less when it fits. I hope to continue following his lead.
-Born Ruffians drummer: I've only just started listening to them, but the drumming is quite intense, but I've only just realised; obtainable. I'm learning a lot just listening to them.

ANYWAY, update for those who don't know (which saves me an email to Nat. I don't dislike writing you emails Nat, I just have no time!) So yeah, Night Hawk closed, and I'm at Heritage now doing the same thing. I don't like going to school everyday. I don't know why it is so hard, I can't see it being easier even if it was something I was more passionate about. But I'm trying so damn hard. Anyway, now I'm working at a call centre as well, at night. The Strategic Counsel. So I'm crazy busy all the time. I'm tired and blah blah blah. The upside is, I'm finally around young, hot girls a lot. There are quite a few good looking girls at Heritage, and I haven't really been around people my own age for a while, so it's nice. And a lot of younger people work for call centres too. There are quite a few young and pretty girls. Today, I sat next to a girl named Madison. She is quite hot. She's 21 and going to New Zealand for a year in November. We talked the whole time, and joked around and stuff and it was quite awesome. But she's leaving, so that sucks. Madison is a wicked name for a girl I think. But yeah, so far having seating plans has worked out well, as I've sat next to at least FAIRLY cool people every day. But yeah, this Madison girl, definitely the best.

Anyway, that's what's going on lately for those who didn't know! Now I sleep!

Damn you Fruitopia, you've spawned an era of commercials that are nothing more than trippy imagery to a psychedelic soundtrack. Something original please, corporations!

New PC Cola Tastes Like Medicine [Sep. 12th, 2007|11:51 pm]
*Revised Top Drummers List*

10. Matt Helders of Arctic Monkeys - Nothing very outstanding about this drummer but the sound of his snare. It's tuned very high so lets out a louder, more prominent sound. This results in all rolls sounding very sharp. A talented, well-rounded drummer.
9. Joules Scott-Key of Metric - The guy never really shows off his talent in the band, but I've seen him in the behind-the-scenes crap and he is a very talented drummer. His beats are harder to do than they sound, and he was spot-on at both live shows.
8. Phil Selway of Radiohead - Another drummer who has never done the same beat twice. At least in any of the hundreds of Radiohead songs I've heard. Though they may all be slowbeatz, they are creative and well-planned. Only he could come up with these beats.
7. Matt Tong of Bloc Party - All rolls are in spots I wouldn't expect and are never faster or more complex than the Bloc Party beats themselves. Not one blank spot in the drumming of any Bloc Party song. Very well filled out.
6. Dave Grohl of Nirvana - I gotta give credit to the king of the alterna-rock scene. Of the few Nirvana songs I've heard, the drumming was decent, but 90's Alternative is quite minimalist and formulaic: power chords, 4-4 beat in every song, so doesn't really show off his skill. Queens of the Stoneage songs do though. He occassionally drums with them, and he has some crazy powerful rolls and rapid hits.
5. Ted Suss of The Lovely Feathers - His style changes drastically between the first two Feathers albums showing his true versatility. Fast, throbbing dance beats in album one, classic ride hits in the second, very solid drummer.
4. Sebastien Grainger of Death From Above 1979 - The fact that he drums and sings proves he obviously has talent, and his style opened my eyes to a new way of drumming.
3. Greg Alsop of Tokyo Police Club - The most destinct style I've heard. Just watching him is amazing, the most creative drummer ever.
2. Steve Hamelin of Born Ruffians - Most versatile drummer I can think of. Very Talented, very fast, very creative.
1. Drummer from Holy Fuck - Guy is fucking nuts! His thriving beats totally inadvertently lead every song, and pull the other band members behind.

This - Is - Some - Thing - REEEEAL! [Sep. 10th, 2007|11:23 pm]
[Current Mood | tired]
[Current Music |look above!]

I was writing about music, like just lists of what I've been listening to and my favourite drummers, but then I found this, so I'm gonna do it! Yay for finding one of these myself! (assuming we haven't already done it).

1. What are you listening to right now?
Born Ruffians, Tokyo Police Club, The Lovely Feathers, Holy Fuck, Yeah Yeah Yeahs

2. What song makes you sad?
Auf Achse, or Lover I don't Have To Love, or anything emo I have, like Dashboard Confessional for the wussy girl problems shit, and other Bright Eyes, like It's Cool We Can Still Be Friends.

3. What is the most annoying song in the world?
I can't ever get that Mika song out of my head when it gets in there. Also a lot of parts of Hedonistic Me by Born Ruffians...pretty weak.

4. Your all time favourite band?
I'll say Franz for argument's sake, but at the moment I'll say Lovely Feathers

5. Your newly discovered band is?
Born Ruffians

6. Best female voice?
Karen O, Emily Haines, Cindy O ;)

7. Best male voice?
Wooooah...Thom Yorke, David Monks, Lead singer of Lovely Feathers (Either Richard Yanofsky or Mark Kupfert, not sure which...), Sebastien Grainger, and more probably

8. Music type you find yourself listening to most?
indie dance-rock/anything clever, fresh, hooky, and good!

9. What do you listen to, to hype you up?
I'm listening to In The Valley right now and it's pumping me up BUT good! Also, DFA. Depends what I need pumping for.

10. What do you listen to, to calm down?
Some slower, softer Feathers, like Cadillac Back-Pack and Orchids. Or anything happy calms me down.

11. Last gig/concert you went to?
Probably Bluesfest.

12. Band you find yourself listening to the most right now?
Probably Feathers, Born Ruffians more and more, a little TPC (because there are only a few songs out there), some YYYs and a couple Unicorns.

13. Most hated band?
Moldy Peaches make me want to punch hippies, except for Goodbye Song. I'd like to punch Brandon Flowers until he wrote another half decent song. I seem to have something against New Pornographers. And I have no respect for vanilla indie-pop-rock bands that are riding the Killers wave. ("The Killers wave", not "the Killers' wave".) And then the more obvious ones like Nickelback and their clones, blah blah blah.

14. Song that makes you think?
Radiohead usually. Shins. I like to think I can decode them but I don't really know what either band is ever talking about.

15. Band that you think the world should love as much as you do?
The Lovely Feathers deserve a really big following that they don't seem to have. I'm very proud of TPC for getting so big so fast, but I'm really mad I didn't get to know them when they were small. Didn't even see them at like Zaphods, I had to see them at Bluesfest with thousands of people, whereas NAt had popsicles with them! They're so damn cool!

16. Coolest music video?
Frantic is great. Your English Is Good is the perfect soundtrack to it's video. I forget music videos very quickly. Show me some if you find good ones!

17. Music video with the most babe watch?
Like...Pamela Anderson running in slow motion, or like...hot girls? I'll say Your English Is Good, because man, all of those girls are so freakin' hot, and all the guys are nerdy and ugly! Gives me so much hope!

18. Not to forget:
Death From Above 1979. Though they may be dead, they will live on forever in my mind!

19. Can you play a musical instrument?
Drumma! And I like to think that I dabble in bass. It's fun and I get it so much more than effing guitar. Oh, and piano basics. Well, bit more than basics I guess. And singing is fun!

20. Ever been in a mosh pit?
Haha, I was just talking to Cindy about this! Snow Jam moshpits were effing nuts! Crowd surfing and all. Very violent moshpits and very fun! The funnest one I can remember was for Dropkick Murphys.

21. Are you in a band?
Yeah! The Pwnees baby!

22. If yes, what kind of music does your band play?
Basically indie rock. Nothing that experimental or fresh on paper, but if you listen to us, you might be surprised. We have quite a lot of variation in our songs.

23. Ever dated a musician?
Well, she wasn't at the time, but now she's my lead singer sooo...kinda?

24. If yes, what kind of music did he/she/they play/instrument/band?
Weh! Slashes! My arch enemies! She is now my singer, wasn't then.

27. If no, would you consider?
I would like to date a bassist. Bassists always have something to prove, and chick bassists are usually hot I think. I can't really think of any other than the one in the band that opened for Sebastien Grainger at Mavericks who wasn't that hot up close, but looked fantastic holding a bass.

28. Do you wish you were a musician?
I....am a musician. Just covered that.

29. Best chick band you know of?
Like all chick? Don't think I know any. Spice Girls? Josie and the Pussycats?

30. Best guy band you know of?
Franz Ferdinand, Feathers, From Above 1979 (Death, that is), etc.

31. Last song that you heard on the radio/cd...etc...?
Your English Is Good on the TPC Myspace.

32. What do you think of Classical music?
Some good stuff, most of it in Zelda and Final Fantasy Games.

33. What do you think of Country music?
Shins have kind of a country sound I guess...well not in the songs I like, but still. I used to hate country, but after seeing a very hot lead singer of a country band, I may need to reconsider my feelings about it.

34. What do you think of Death metal?
It's loud! ^_^

35. Last BIG band that you saw live?
Metric. They were at Bluesfest and they are quite huge.

36. Are you a groupie?
No no, they come to me. I'm in a band, I can't do both. I wait for them to come to me. I wait...ever so long...

37. Do you listen to music in foreign languages?
Sigur Ros. Used to be into Rammstein.

38. What famous musician do you find sexy?
Famous? That country bitch was hot but they're not famous. Emily Haines and Karen O, and I think that chick from BSS who's not Emily Haines or Feist. Oh, and Cindy, I guess. Meh. :P

39. Worst concert moment?
Having my vision blocked by some douche-y, hippie, old man photographer at Bluesfest who probably cared nothing for Seb Grainger. Oh, and missing Superman by Goldfinger at the very last Snow Jam ever.

40. Funny Concert moment?
Being hit on by a drunk girl who had a boyfriend at Metric at Bluesfest. That was funny I guess. The guys stripping at our show was great too. Oh, and the drunken indoor bikini hippie chicks dancing to the Strokes. AND my first time skanking at Planet Smashers.

41. Sad Concert moment?
Them all being over? Oh, the fact that we didn't win I guess...though a good band did win...The Islands opening for Metric was pretty sad.

42. Best local act you can think of?
I thought Holy Fuck was local but they're not. So I'll say us?

43. If you were a musical instrument what would you be?
That hot country girl singer's microphone...or panties. HAH!

44. Do you listen to the radio?
Gotten pretty weak lately...

45. Do you watch music TV?
lol "MUSIC TELEVISION...I AM A ROBOT" occasionally. The last thing I watched was a spotlight on Weird Al. It was great!

46. Do you follow the music charts, like the top 40?
Nope.

47. Have you meet any famous musicians?
Jesse James' guitarist gave me his pick from on stage, the Born Ruffians guitarist brushed up against me, David Monks and I hang out when I dream, and I had sex with Emily Haines once.

48. Are any of your friends/family etc musicians?
Most of them!

49. Song that best describes your feelings right now?
Brahm's Lullabye.

50. Song that describes your life?
This Sentence Will Ruin/Save Your Life, or Your English Is Good, because it plays in my head wherever I walk.

51. Do you know the names of all the band members that you listen to?
All of them? No. But I'm definitely above average in that field I think.

52. Does a musician’s physical attractiveness play a role in the music that you listen to?
Considering I mainly listen to primarily male bands...I hope not.

53. What famous musician do you want to marry?
Marry? Courtney Love. She's single right? Lol ew. Um, I'd probably shoot Emily Haines after a while of marriage, because she's either high all the time, or kind of a lifeless bitch. Karen O looks fun I guess. Sure. I do!

54. Favourite movie sound track?
Garden State was Solid. So was Superbad, freakin' Echoes by The Rapture?! You kidding me?! Oh, and Dogtown and Z-Boys if I feel like 70's psychedelic.

55. Any musician pet hates?
...^_^?

56. What do your parents listen to?
What do all parents listen to? Chez.

57. What are you listening to right NOW?
DAMN! I was JUST listening to Your English Is Good, but it just ended! shit! I missed it!

58. Do you wear band etc T-shirts?
I have Franz and Hot Hot Heat, then Britt made me Metric and Strokes, and I have my Strokes zip-up hoodie that never leaves my body. And mum thought I had wasted 40 bucks!

59. What do you think of people who do?
LOLOL! I...enjoy their company?

60. What music sub-culture do you feel like you belong to?
I'm a proud scene-kid! I love that there's no initiation, you can just proclaim yourself an indie kid!

61. What song is stuck in your head right now?
I've listened to Your English Is Good like 3 times now, so that, but then I read the answer the guy who I copied this from had, which was a combination of Strokes songs, and I got You Talk Way Too Much stuck in my head 'cause I listened to it today.

63. If so, what? If not, why not?
Because- ...Where the hell is question 62?

64. Would you rather marry a musician or be one yourself?
I'll serenade my tone-deaf wife!

65. What is in your walkman/discman right now?
1400 songs are in my MP3 PLAYER.

66. How important is your partners taste in music to you?
It bothers me waaay more than I'd like it to.

67. Hanson moves in next door to you, do you go introduce yourself, or do you arrange to beat them up?
I'm sure I wouldn't have recognized them 10 years ago. I'm sure they look pretty haggard and run-down these days.

68. Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll, you dig?
I'm not sure I dig any.

69. Do you cook to music?
if I had an oven in my room. AWH! That would be awesome! AWHH!

70. Do you sing in the shower?
I sing BEAUTIFULLY in the shower.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So that's from some Norwegian chick's blog apparently. So the wording is AWESOME! Anyway, I'm gonna be dead tomorrow! Night!
Might as well do my list! Favourite drummers that I can think of right now:
5. Ted Suss of The Lovely Feathers - His style changes drastically between the first two Feathers albums showing his true versatility. Fast, throbbing dance beats in album one, classic ride hits in the second, very solid drummer.
4. Sebastien Grainger of Death From Above 1979 - The fact that he drums and sings proves he obviously has talent, and his style opened my eyes to a new way of drumming.
3. Greg Alsop of Tokyo Police Club - The most destinct style I've heard. Just watching him is amazing, the most creative drummer ever.
2. Steve Hamelin of Born Ruffians - Most versatile drummer I can think of. Very Talented, very fast, very creative.
1. Drummer from Holy Fuck - Guy is fucking nuts! His thriving beats totally inadvertently lead every song, and pull the other band members behind.
That's it! Night!
Holy shit, I could not remember her name, but now she's on just for laughs again. Worst Stand-up Comic I have EVER Heard: Wendy Liebman. There aren't any videos of her on youtube, except this thirty second thing but it's not stand-up. Yeah, if you ever see her on JFL, you'll know. Worst Comic Ever.
Donkey-Donkey-Donkey-ROY! [Aug. 30th, 2007|10:47 pm]
So I have a driving test on October 10 at 2:50. After going through the whole automated phone thing to make an appointment, they finally tell me that it's $20 to cancel an appointment, and you need to bring your own car. So that sucked, I was all worried that mum wouldn't go for it, and I thought I might need to borrow Warwick for it or something, but mum said she's take the day off work, so that's cool. Then she reminded me that I'd have to take my test in a standard and asked if I was comfortable with that, but you know what, I think I'm more comfortable in a standard than in an automatic. I feel more aware in a standard, it keeps me on my toes. Makes me feel like I'm really driving the car. So I'm a little nervous, but I realised that that's like 40 days away, sooo, who cares. I'm gonna be practicing parking and stuff over the month, so that'll be cool.
So yeah, that's what's going on. Couldn't get a hold of the Heritage woman, so that's got me a little nervous. But hopefully that'll work out. Yeah.
I was gonna write a public entry tonight too, but I wrote a lot already and this just seems sort of redundant. I'm writing this for the sake of actively putting the last controversial entry behind us. Patsy apologized in person which was very sweet and totally unnecessary, and I don't have strong feelings about it anymore anyway, so it is behind us now. Oh, and I made it a just friends post, which I forgot to do, thank you for reminding me Rhonda. Now I'm gonna eat, and sleep. See you on the Coast.
p.s. Wanna hear something funny? I asked Sarah for the definition of the word "folly" (I know, bad choice of person to ask, but I kinda knew the definition, I just wanted to double check with someone and she was upstairs), so I asked her if it was like stupidity, like "the folly of my ways" (which it is) and she was like "...uh yeah I think so, like 'fall'"....LOLOL!!! TRAD! Anyway, so she asks why I want to know the definition of words, "like are you taking a test or something?" and I say "no, I just like to sound more..." and I couldn't remember the word. Turns out the word I was looking for was articulate! Isn't that ironic?! Yes it is.
p.p.s. My p.s. is longer and more meaningful than my post.
You know what's really fun? Pulling handbrake 180's in a dark, dusty chelsea parking lot. That's right. I tried it. It was so fun! Cindy did too! Btw Cindy, I meant to tell you, though you may not have been able to get the handbrake all the way up every time, I was really impressed with your reaction skills. Like when the car kept veering to the left, you were very quick to call it quits and hit the regular brakes before we hit that fence or stop sign or whatever. Good job! But yeah, burning out and attempting reverse 180's...it was very fun! I was surprised at how good I was at it! It made me happy and more confident about my driving again.
So yeah, Corey, Cindy, and I stayed out all night again. It was fun as always. I really love doing that actually, it's proven to be quite fun and enlightening and personal and friendly and sunrise-y both times, and I just wish Jeff would come out with us! Yeah, I went straight to school from no sleep. I'm pretty dead now, but whever, school was slack, for reasons I don't want to get into, basically the school is screwed again, yada yada yada. Oh yeah, you're right again Cindy; the four of us are the four from seinfeld. I was skeptical about Jeff being George but you totally are Jeff! Yeah, I think I should go for my license so I can pull that kinda shit whenever I want!
Yeah I'm tired, I'm gonna go sleep. Byeee.
ZOMG It's 8:00 and I'm awake! I know. No, it's not that I haven't gone to bed yet, I am actually up. Didn't get much sleep mind you, but THAT'S RIGHT, I'm starting to get a ROUTINE going. I'm even working out at night a bit! It's the longest I've kept the train going. Like a couple weeks now. I may switch it to the morning if I become more of a morning person, which may happen. Or both. Why not. So of course I look for cartoons in the morning, 'cause I'm a cartooniac, so I check the usual channels and listen to this: CBC and PBS are both playing Curious George, Teletoon is playing George of the Jungle, and YTV is playing George Shrinks! Did they plan this?! All from 8:00-8:30!!! CRAZY. See you at school, nobody interesting!
Liam's Band Name Suggestion (Rockzilla) Was From This Show [Aug. 6th, 2007|04:12 am]
It's so hard just to feel normal
When everyone is completely paranormal and
Everything is totally deranged
And you're the only one who's sane
Sometimes it gets
So unbearable
But mostly I feel
Unbelievable
And I'm a freak
Cuz my dad is a rockstar, yeah
My dad is a rockstar
That's it, the party's over
Turn off the lights, I'm leaving the stage
I just wanna get a little more control
So nobody can tell me what to do
Sometimes it gets
So unbearable
But mostly I feel
Unbelievable
And I'm a freak
Cuz my dad is a rockstar, yeah
My dad is a rockstar, yeah, yeah
Sleep On The Floor [Aug. 6th, 2007|02:19 am]
I can't remember how many contacts I actually had on msn...I think it was about 95-100. But I just got my list down to about 25. I am very happy. I've been meaning to do some e-cleaning up for a long ass time now, and with my introduction to facebook, I realised that it was time. I only kept the people who I talk to (obviously), who talk to me, and who don't have facebook...I guess.
Bars of soap are odd. When compared to like cream soap or whatever, the only advantage they have is the monetary savings. They get like hair on them sometimes...everybody uses them, so you really don't know how many germs could be getting on it. But it's a bar of SOAP! So it's like the only thing that can be shared and not collect grossies. ("Grossies", coined by James Taylor-Geertsen, 2:36, Aug. 6, 2007). I've always wanted the cream soap dispenser things as a kid. I used them at friends' houses and they just seemed so much more logical to me. Anyway, that being said, mum, or somebody else, has recently bought one, but I don't seem to use it ever. I always subconsciously grab the bar of soap. It looks gross, and always leaves gross soap scuzz in the little holder or on the counter top or wherever you keep it, but I always grab it. And I've realised that I like them better now. It's a lot easier to shave with the lather created by the bars as opposed to the dispenser soap too. Maybe that's the only reason the bars still exist. Kids who grew up like me become adults who buy the bars because it only makes sense to us.
Turns out I do have tomorrow off. I had a feeling, 'cause schools tend to find any excuse to close up. So I'll have mum's birthday off after all...though I doubt I'll really be doing anything with her, seein' as Yves is here and all. Nat, wish your aunt a happy birthday so you look like you knew and remembered!
*POINTLESS ENTRY*
Night.
Also, some videos. Everyone around here has seen this video, but I realise Nat may not have. Nat, if you watched The OC, or even if you didn't, watch this. It's an SNL digital short, and it's funny. This one is for everyone. It's a little more crude, but it ties into a talk we had in McDonalds late at night, or any other time we talk about Sailor Moon, which happens more than you might think. And this one is something most people have thought about. They should've ended it ha;fway through though, second half isn't needed. Oh well.
I Am Just A Man, A Veritable Tin Man [Jul. 26th, 2007|01:51 pm]
[Current Location |Schizzool]
[Current Mood | pensive]
[Current Music |The Lovely Feathers - Frantic]
Haha, Rhonda's bouncing elephant display pic is shown in fast motion on these computers! It's looks way less hypnotic, and waaaay more frantic (Lovely! You think you're lovely! Well you ain't lovely anymore!..). So Daniel, the front receptionist guy, (and The Lovely Feathers' best friend! Muahaha! How many of these references can I pull off?!) like hates me now I guess...? I always come in, and avoid eye contact from everybody because every conversation I have with anyone is super awkward and always starts if I give someone a nod. If they're no crazy nerdy and want to show me some new ship they built in their game, their just plain crazy and want to talk to me about crazy things. But I guess Daniel takes my awkward-situation-avoidance (or ASA) personally, 'cause I came in and the door was open, and he's all "You better swipe your card anyway so we know you at least showed up" in like a bitchy, ghetto-girl, *snap snap* sort of way. Oh well. I mean, I already know I'm like the total outcast here, with my neckerchief and murse, but I thought SOMEONE would appreciate my new Dr. McNinja shirt (care of Cindy)! I kinda like being an outcast. Not just because I like the fact that I'm not a totally hopeless nerd or a disgusting various-drug addict, but just because I like my solitude here. And I'm showing up more because Sam doesn't scare me in the least. I have no problem coming in late rather than not at all, because facing Sam is such a breeze. And I'm remembering how fun this place can be at times, so I'm coming in more and more. Now if I can only work on getting my freakin' driver's license and a car, I'll be all set. Oh, actually, I probably am going to start looking for a job soon. I've got a potential lined up (care of Neil), and I'll try HMV for the hell of it, though I doubt they need someone to come in at 5 and do what little work there is to do until 9 when they close. But I could do weekends, and I can see myself liking that job very much. Not just because I'm always there already and enjoy music and blah blah blah, but because it would be all about like stocking shit. Granted, this doesn't sound all that exciting, and I did hate this job at PharmaPlus, the difference though is that these are CDs, all the same size, and all fit in alphabetically! I love organizing shit! I've organized my own DVDs and CDs alphabetically! So yeah, we shall see what the future brings. School time...
We Are Running Away, We Are Trying To Escape, We Are Not Afraid To Admit That We Are A-NI-MALS! [Jul. 25th, 2007|01:36 pm]
Don't really have anything to say. Just wanted to use those lyrics in an LJ title. I would've used " 'Cause I Don't Want To Die With You My Baby! " but Cindy changed her msn name to it the day after I SHOWED her the song. Skank. Yes, "We're Back!" is a cartoon dinosaur movie of the nineties. It totally paled in comparison (is that the saying?) to Land Before Time, but it was way better than any of those, like, 50 awful sequels (To LBT). Plus it had an obnoxious New Yorker kid who was AWESOME. As far as I can remember.
We're Back! (Does anyone even get that 90s reference?!) [Jul. 21st, 2007|09:52 pm]
LOLOL! Fuck I miss funny! This whole week I went almost entirely without funny! Don't get me wrong, Jeff and I can be pretty funny together, but he gets into family mode a lot of the time...
Those who don't know, I went to Jeff's family cottage for one whole week. Just got back. Cottages are always nice; just sitting outside in the sun is a treat. To my chagrin, there was no motorboat there....I was pretty dissappointed because I LOOOVE boats! I just love water and being out on it. Driving them is super fun and they kick up water streams that you can stick your hand in. So no, no boat with a motor, but Jeff and I got to do a lot of conoeing, which I also love. I didn't get to fish either. As lame as it sounds, I do enjoy fishing quite a bit. The weather didn't really cooperate with us for most of the week. Other than these downsides, it was quite a relaxing week, involving canoeing/island exploration, cliff diving (or rock jumping rather), and walking around the nice little hick town that is Barry's Bay.
But ah yes, I've forgotten about another drawback. Jeff's extrememly unfunny extended family. Though I suppose this was quite amusing to me in the grand scheme of things. I've always liked Jeff's mum's clever puns and whatnot, and his dad turned out to be a bit funnier than I thought....more just that he had a better sense of humour than I thought. But OMG, Jeff's Father and his....mother's cousin's husband together are possibly the most hilariously unfunny people EVER! I call them the Joke-Killers. I should make T-shirts for them.
Okay, so Jeff's dad is one of the proudest people I've ever met, he can never be wrong, and he finds himself QUITE funny. Bob (the afore-mentioned relative) is a school teacher. Upon hearing this, I pictured a jovial man. He borders on jovial, but....well you can definitely tell he's a teacher. He's not funny, though he tries very hard and thinks he's succeeded, then he explains his jokes, which are never funny. When we were hiking around Algonquin Park, this made up example of one of their conversations popped into my head and had me chuckling quite hard as I walked, and I knew I had to remember it for LJ. Here is a classic dinner at Jeff's cottage:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Bob: (To Virginia mainly, but for all to hear) "I've eaten so much that I feel like an elephant!"

*Slight chuckle around the table, save Joanne (sp?), Jeff's mother's other cousin, who has the demeanor of a lonely spinster in my opinion*

Pete (Jeff's father): "Yeah, next thing we know, you'll be reaching your trunk up to tree branches trying to eat the leaves or bark, or whatever the hell elephants eat!"

*Uproarious, thunderous laughter from Pete, same chuckle from everyone else, save Joanne*

~After a long semi-silent period, Bob's consience gets the best of him, and he decides to come clean.~

Bob: "You know, I'm not really an elephant, it was just a joke."

Pete: "Oh. Right, of course."

Joanne: "Can someone pass the wine please"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LOLOL I'm over-exaggerating obviously, but not as much as you might think. Bob's jokes were ALWAYS lame, and he ALWAYS felt the need to confess that he "wasn't really serious. It was only a joke." Pete only really laughed at his own jokes that were slightly less lame follow-ups to lame jokes and kind of dies out at the end. And Joanne drank a lot more than everyone realised. Possibly the only unfunny dysfunction in a family ever!
Don't worry Jeff, I had fun! But I think we're both quite glad to be back!
Haha, some of the villain creatures in the Narnia movie are little mongolian guys!
I miss web comics!!! This is a funny comic for those who are savvy in the field of computers, like moi! The next one is pretty good too.
So I'm back, and hello again to everyone! How I missed you, technology!
The Ever-Controversial Slash [Jul. 8th, 2007|07:10 am]
[Current Location |Out Of Bed.]
[Current Mood | cranky]
I do all my best thinking at night. I should always write at nighttime. Okay, technically it's not nighttime anymore, but obviously I can't sleep.
You know how everyone is like a little crazy? Well if, from time to time, you forget why exactly I am crazy, well here it is. This is why. When It's 7:10 in the morning and I've been in bed tossing and turning for hours, THIS is what I'm thinking about. The subject I'm about to raise.
I love this rant, it's one of my oldest and most favourite, and no one seems to have clued into it. At least nobody I talk to. It's one of those mind-blowing things that I could go on about forever. It's one of those things that may mean nothing to someone else, but means so much to me. Like when you love a band or a song so much, and you show it to someone else, and they just don't get it; that's what this upcoming rant is to me. Here goes.
/. The english punctuation mark "/". The slash. It's such an anomaly to me. All other punctuation marks have different sounding names, some of which require nicknames, like the little chapeau above the "e" instead on an accent circonflexe. Or the little "5" below the c. These are french ones though, I don't know if they have french slang for them. Take the dash for example, though. It's not actually a "dash", it's a hyphen. Or brackets. They're not "brackets", they're parentheses. But not the slash. The slash is just the "slash" as far as I know. Wtf?
Nobody can articulate a slash. Everybody just says "slash" when they come to one. The sentence "Let's go to the gas station/corner store." read aloud would be "Let's go to the gas station slash corner store." There's no other way. You can't ignore the slash's presence and just say both words side by side. "The gas station corner store." That totally takes away from the impact the slash has on the sentence. Right now, as you read this entry, every "/" I've typed, you've read it as "slash". Don't deny it, there's no other way to articulate it. And of course not, it's punctuation. You read "," as "comma". The difference is, you would never say "comma" as you read a sentence aloud, or even make one up yourself. That's what makes the slash unique. It is perhaps the only punctuation mark you have to say aloud, otherwise, you've just left it out of your sentence entirely.
But we're just skimming the surface. Let's get to the meat. What is the definition of the slash? Can anyone define the slash? I'll give you the definition. The definition of the slash is "and/or". The definition of the slash has a slash in it! That means that the real definition is "and [and/or] or". You must define the slash each time. But it'll always keep the slash. Do you realize that that means you could have a never-ending series of "and"s on one side of the slash, and "or"s on the otherside, but you will never get rid of that slash?! You're defining it each time by adding one more "and" to the "and" side, and one more "or" to the "or" side, keeping them divided up by that slash! Does that not blow everybody's mind?!
This is the best job I can do at defining the slash without using one. It gets a bit repetitive. In fact, I will type out the snippet "man/wolf" without entering in the slash, and I'll use various tools to divide up each section. That'll get my point accross more clearly. Here goes: "[Man and wolf] OR [man or wolf]." That is the ONLY way to define a slash without actually using the slash. By giving you the two options.
Here's how WordNet online dictionary defines the slash: "a punctuation mark (/) used to separate related items of information". That doesn't really give the whole story there. That is indeed what the slash accomplishes, but it doesn't tell you how it seperates them. Technically, all punctuation is either seperation, or segway. A period seperates, a comma segways. TOO VAGUE, sorry WordNet. NEXT!
Here's American Heritage Dictionary's attempt: "A diagonal mark ( / ) used especially to separate alternatives, as in and/or." I like this one. Again, a little vague, but they mention that it's used to "seperate alternatives". If they went any deeper than that, they would reveal the slash's terrible secret; ...that "and/or" is the synonym for the slash used to seperate these alternatives! DUNN DUNN DUNNNN. It's true, think about it. Try making a seperation of alternatives without using "and/or" as your synonym for the slash. "And/or" is exactly what the slash represents, except for in cases like "80 km/h". We're getting into a WHOLE other slash there. The "per" slash, and I have no beef with it.
Upon further investigation, I've discovered that the slash in fact DOES have a more provocative moniker: a solidus. Quite the cool alternative actually, I think I may just start calling it a solidus! So I retract my previous statement; the slash does have another alias, albeit an uncommonly heard one.
As I've said, this is one of my oldest rants, and hopefully, it's stimulated some thoughts of your own about the ever-controversial slash. Enjoy your morning, you bastards.
Happy Birthday Cindy! [Jul. 8th, 2007|03:37 am]
[Current Mood | outraged!]
Oh bleh! My tv guide thing that's like built in to the illico box, like right in the tv you know, is usually very accurate and typo/grammatical error-less. But read this description of an episode of Robson Arms (it's a crappy Canadian comedy show):
"Carols' daughter Georgia shows up one night and wrecks havoc in her life. Carol must decide if the two can ever be on equal footing, or if Georgia would be better of with her dad."
I'm not going to bother pointing out every error because hopefully it'll drive all of you nuts too, but let me just say this...wtf does "be on equal footing" mean?! on equal footing?!?! Teh hell?! 10 points to anyone who can point out EVERY grammatical/typographical/punctuation/basic syntax error. Fake points though. 'Cause I guess my points system went out the window with my other LJ.
Night.
How Sweet His Suffering Is In His Blue Lawrenceville Blazer [Jul. 6th, 2007|01:28 am]
[Current Mood | musical]
[Current Music |The Lovely Feathers - I Really Really Really Really Really Like You]
Back in the 90s, when I was a wee lad, I used to worry about the fate of music. We'd be having a school dance or whatever (so maybe this was in jr. high in 2000-2001), and this techno started playing. It was really annoying. Fun to dance to, but annoying. I started thinking...is this where music is headed? Thanks to the invention of the keyboard and synth and vox and moogs and all that...is music just going to become a series of blips and bloops? Just press a button and create new music everytime? I'm so glad that's not the case! Back in the 80's where synth was prominent in almost every song, they called it "New Wave", meaning "This is the way music is going to be now". Synth still exists, but it's WAY less prominent than it used to be when it first came out. I'm so glad we've gone back to the standard guitar, bass, drumkit setup (for the most part anyway). That people have chosen the more analog sounding of the two. For the most part anyway.
I've been rewatching my Joe Schmo DVDs and I never realised how hot Molly (Angela Dodson) is.
Why is there an asian cowboy in this stupid Futershop commercial?...o_O
So I ended up watching all of Hard Candy...freakin' weird movie. I feel like I should be witnessing to this effed up girl! Like..."Why won't you accept Jesus, girl?!" Really weird movie. Good Acting, kinda poor writing though. Predictable. And I hate the last line of the movie. It's pointless, just makes her a bitch for the sake of it. Yes I''m calling her a bitch. You'll see the movie and it'll make sense and maybe you'll disagree about her being a bitch...but it was quite needless. Of course he's an asshole too, but oh well. Main cast of two, full cast of five.
I changed my setup a little bit. Well really put it back to how it used to be. I made it skinnier because I used to have a working background that just kinda stopped working. So I made it wider again so that my posts don't look so freakin long. Night.
The Lovely Feathers - Orchids
days are not faint,
I'm still losing it,
name a lung,
yes, I'm dry,
the story book is still on time
orchids growing in my lawn
orchids growing in my lawn
I'm still pinching it up,
the pieces you said you'd live without
tonight I hope my dreams to fight against the long long long nights
green grass growing in my bed
green grass growing in my bed
broke twigs sitting in my chair,
oh I wish that I was sitting there
my past, my phone, my knees, my hair, my ears, my flat, my bed, you're right
ice cream melting in my hands
ice cream melting in my hands
my girlfriend kicked me out,
a rat ate my dog,
my shoes are fake,
my heels are unglued,
I can't find my keys,
my seams are abused,
my falling from curtain,
our failing review,
my big toe broke the stairs,
our tissues torn to pieces,
my puppet's getting married,
my feelings don't believe me
the telephone rang
the telephone rang
the telephone rang
the telephone rang
I'm still laughing
but I'm still laughing
but I'm still laughing
but I'm still laughing
but I'm still laughing
yes I'm still laughing
yes I'm still laughing
yes I'm still laughing
